Titanium Coils
Heatexchangers (coils) with titanium tubes.
(for applications such as seawater systems and corrosive environments).
History:
Autom 1988 Statoil/Aker Engineering expressed that they had recorded an increasing number of leaks on seawater
coils designed with CuNi 90/10 or 70/30 tubes, and in their search to solve this problem ttc norge as was contacted.
The oil industry contacted ttc norge as since we are the only producer of heatexchangers (air/water type) in Norway,
and we had supplied seawater coils to oil fields such as Gullfaks and Oseberg. In the process of explaining and
solving this question ttc norge as contacted the Institut for Enegiteknikk. Having thoroughly gone through
documentation, publications and consulted several specialists one concluded that the materials used in designing
seawater coils was not suited for the application. This conclusion resulted in the development of titanium coils, and
we started the production of such coils in 1990.
From this date and onwards ttc norge as has supplied most of the titanium coils which have been installed in
seawater systems on Norwegian oilfields. In the later years the offshore deliveries have been such as Visund, Troll C,
Åsgard B, Jotun, Elf Girassol and Huldra. ttc norge as are also supplier world wide and also to the marine industry.
With respect to marine deliveries there is the supply ship Scandi Pategonia which is our latest delivery.
Cooling coils/ preheating coils, type CW:
Cooling coils for the cooling of air using seawater as the cooling medium. In the winter the same coil can function as
an air preheating coil since the seawater has a relatively stable temperature through out the year. This results is
maximum use of the heatexchanger giving good economy and a simple solution.

Fin Fan Coolers with titanium tubes.
Recycling air coolers with seawater as a cooling medium. Supplied with the purpose of air cooling of generator-set
and technical rooms (eks. generator rooms, containers, engine rooms, thruster rooms, etc.) The units are made to
measure and are supplied with fans, standard or ex-standard. If required various fan control systems can also be
supplied.

Air cooled radiator, type HW:
The radiator’s mission is to use ambient air to cool a fluid, oil or gas, for example from a fresh-water generator-set.
The unit is supplied with fans, standard or ex-standard fans. If required various fan control systems can also be
supplied.

Materials in a titanium coil consist of:
• Tubes in titanium grade 1, headers in grade 2.
• Fins in CuSn and AlMg3. We can also offer other fin materials according to customer requirements.
• Casing in SS316. Using angleframe or sheetmetal design.
Physical Dimentions:
All our coils are made to measure according to customer requirements (due to production limitations each coil can be
maximum 4000x2940 with fans in addition)
Delivery time:
Normally 8 – 10 working weeks.
